Today I planted two rows of Baker Creek's Hedou tiny bok choy (pictured above, photo from their website), two rows of Bake Creek's milk bok choy, and two rows of their Long Island improved Brussels sprouts. The seeds were super tiny, like kale seeds and I planted a lot more than intended, mostly because of not being able to feel them through my gloves. (Note to self: next time just skip the gloves for planting these tiny seeds). So I might have to do a lot of thinning but am hopeful of having weeks of bok choy to enjoy.
Two rows in a 4x4' bed is only four Brussels sprouts seeds so I'm not sure how much that will net us? I'm guessing it's not a good choice for such a small space but I wanted to try growing them. I broke my "always water in seeds" rule because it looks like rain and it's on the forecast but if it doesn't actually rain, God willing, I'll water them tomorrow.
It's my first time growing either plant (bok choy or Brussels sprouts). May God bless the seeds and plants and may He bless you and yours too!
PS I also transplanted an obedient plant and it's babies from a shallow pot to a shady spot and hope they survive. I thought there would be a good 4" of soil left in that pot but it was closer to 2" so it's kind of a miracle it survived. It was a long window box so it had room to spread roots sideways at least. I planted about a 15" long and 4" wide section of roots for the one plant and babies.
